- You cannot mine Bitcoin on CPUs and GPUs anymore (I mean you can, but it won’t make much sense). To mine this cryptocurrency in 2018 you need ASIC (Application-specific integrated circuit) which is much more efficient (faster and consumes less energy). This device is specifically designed for this purpose, it does it’s best job only at mining bitcoin. More detailed explanation can be found in this article and more about this devices here.
